ZKW880 Corrosion Rate Measurer
The corrosion rate measurer adopts the method combining linear polarization, weak polarization and AC impedance to measure corrosion rate. For the polarization resistance technique, Stern formula is used to estimate corrosion current density Icorr.

Based on polarization resistance measured by linear polarization technique, the polarization technique applies weak polarization to measured electrode, and Tafel constant can be calculated by the polarization current in the weak polarization region, and then the metal corrosion rate can be measured. Weak polarization technique not only eliminates substantial theoretical errors of linear polarization caused by Tafel constant estimation, but also eradicates damage to the electrode face caused by the application of the polarization curve method, i.e. Tafel line extrapolation method. AC impedance method is to apply weak high frequency sine wave signal to corrosion system. The high frequency signal can pass through the interface capacitance between metal and medium, and completely acts on dielectric resistance, and therefore the dielectric resistance of the system can be measured. The polarization resistance calculated by stationary linear polarization measurement minus the dielectric resistance is the actual polarization resistance of the corrosion system, and then the corrosion rate can be accurately measured.
